If the world would have one single capital, New York City would be it! From limousines, fancy restaurants and luxury to cheap tourist attractions and street culture. New York City has it all, and for the average traveler it’s a place you mustn’t miss. Here are the 6 most compelling reasons to add New York City to your list of places to see before you die:

1. The atmosphere

While New York City is an enormous place the entire metropolis can be summed up with one word: atmosphere! Just taking a walk through the streets of Manhattan is an experience in itself, strong enough to be the most convincing argument of them all to visit NYC. Depending on your style and preferences there are also plenty of unique atmosphere-generating parts of the city to visit from the center of Manhattan to Queens and Brooklyn.

Additionally, Manhattan, which is the center of tourism in New York, offers various atmospheres ranging from Harlem and Chinatown to the finance district and Central Park, the latter in which you’ll experience nature in the middle of a gigantic city what can beat that extraordinary combination?

2. Cross culture

Second on the list we have the fact that NYC is a gather point of cultures from all around the world. People from everywhere come to visit New York, and among the people living there you can be sure to find someone sharing your religion, origins or predilections. It’s a place for everyone!

3. Sightseeing

NYC has plenty of attractions for the average tourist to see. Visit the Statue of Liberty, experience the skyscrapers and view the city from above from Empire State Building. Central Park, Time Square and Ground Zero are some additional must-see sights.

4. Entertainment

NYC is the place for shows and entertainment. Broadway has a vast selection of shows and musicals while for the wilder visitor clubs, festivals and exhibitions exist in endless variations. Anyone can easily find something of interest.

5. Shopping

Fifth on the list is shopping. In NYC there’s everything from Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, the latter also known as the world’s largest store, to smaller but specialized shops for the less mainstream aspects of life.

6. Food

Last on the list of reasons to visit NYC is the food. For the average tourist there are plenty of cheap restaurants from Chinese take-away to on-street stands. On the upper scale there are many fancy places to go and restaurant districts for those enjoying the finer aspects of the food chain.

In short, NYC is a city of diversity, a place no soul should miss. Because once again: New York City can be considered the capital of the world there are more reasons to visit the city than there are not to!
